Blacksmith Oil Tools started it's business by providing mud motors to coil tubing companies in Canada. We first experimented with data logging while drilling, it was cool to see the memory recorders pick up pressure and temperature differentials at producing zones. The mud motor division evolved into re-entries, under balanced drilling, foam drilling, and plug milling. Now a days we're working on leaky orphan wells that have already been abandoned, we're drilling out the cement to P&A them properly. The most fun we've had is working on the century old wells that were plugged by telephone poles! We drill those out, then properly plug them for good. Our Products
We offer a variety of 2 7/8's mud motors such as 5:6:3:5 elastomer stator, metal to metal power section, 2 1/8" and 1 11/16" mud motor. We have a wide variety of mills such as junk, pineapple, and tapered mills. We can get open bearing or sealed bearing tri-cone bits at any time. Other equipment in stock is our hydraulic dimple kit, torque gauges, drilling jars, motor head assemblies, and anti-torque swivel.
